Physicists say that light can be thought of as either particle or wave. It turns out that the life/death discontinuum works the same way – particularly when viewed through the lens of non-phenomenal cosciousness. It’s easy to do – just ask yourself a simple question,
“Who am I?”
After sincerely asking yourself this question for a few minutes you’ll notice a bunch of things that you aren’t. I’m not my thoughts, sensations, beliefs, emotions; it turns out that the one who is asking the question isn’t really anything at all – neither dead nor alive, both before life and after life. The Buddhists call this state – no-self, Christian mystics - the resurrected Christ. As it turns out – this life, before life, after life – it’s all pretty much the same – something like light.
